Motor vehicle accidents can claim lives of any age

No parent wants to receive news that his or her child has been killed. Unfortunately, motor vehicle accidents do not discriminate when it comes to age, and individuals, young or old, could suffer fatal injuries in an accident. The aftermath of such an ordeal can be difficult to handle, and many families are left suffering.

It was recently reported that a crash in Tennessee took place between a car and a tractor-trailer. Apparently, the 20-year-old driver of the car pulled out of a side road and into the path of the big rig. The truck then hit the side of the car, causing the smaller vehicle to flip and come to a stop on its top. There were at least three individuals in the car, including the driver, a 19-year-old passenger and an 18-year-old passenger.

Neither teen passenger was wearing a seat belt, and both suffered fatal injuries in the accident. The report stated that the driver of the car was also injured, but details were not given regarding the severity of those injuries. The truck driver did not suffer any injuries. It was noted that the incident was still under investigation at the time of the report.

The families of the teenagers killed in this Tennessee crash may not have wanted to believe the news. Coming to terms with this type of information can take time, and many difficulties can result from the sudden loss of loved ones. The families, and others similarly affected by fatal motor vehicle accidents, may have reason to file wrongful death claims against the driver considered at fault in efforts to seek compensation for their losses, which could hopefully lessen some of their struggles during such a difficult time.
